Humberside Airport is a small airport at Kirmington in North Lincolnshire, three miles from the M180. Its car parks are within walking distance of the terminal, drop-off is free for the first quarter of an hour, and the first flight of the day leaves early. Public transport is limited, so most people drive. This guide covers what is worth knowing before you fly from Humberside.
Getting there by car
The airport is just off the A18, three miles from junction 5 of the M180, with links to the M18, M62, M1 and A1, and to the Humber Bridge. The postcode for the sat-nav is DN39 6YH. Once you arrive, follow the signs for your car park: the long-stay car parks are Car Parks 2, 3 and 4.
Drop-off: the first 15 minutes are free
- Car Park 1, next to the terminal, is the drop-off and short-stay car park. The first 15 minutes are free, then it is £5 up to an hour and £9 up to two hours.
- Paying: the car parks use number-plate recognition. Pay at the machines in and around the terminal before you go back to the car.
- Blue Badge holders should park in Car Park 1 and take the badge, booking confirmation and registration to the Information Desk to be registered.
For collecting someone off a flight, the airport asks drivers to use Car Park 1 too. If you are parking for the trip, none of this applies. Our drop-off charges guide compares Humberside with every other UK airport.
Check-in and security
Check-in opens at 04:30 for the 06:10 flight to Amsterdam, the first of the day. For other flights, check-in desks generally open two to three hours before departure; your booking has the times for your flight.
At security, liquids must be in containers of 100ml or less, carried in a single clear, resealable bag of about 20cm by 20cm, holding up to a litre. If you do not have a bag, ask at the Information Desk or at security. Take out laptops, tablets and any other electrical item larger than a phone to be screened separately, and make sure battery-powered items are charged and can be switched on. Other airports differ, so check the rules for each airport on your trip.
Which parking suits which trip
Before You Fly lists the Humberside parking we sell. On-airport parking at Humberside is within walking distance of the terminal, about three minutes on foot from the long-stay car parks, so there is no shuttle to wait for at either end of the trip.
Prices move with the dates, so compare them for your trip, and book the flexible rate if your dates might move. See the cancellation FAQs.
Lounge and hotel
The Aspire Executive Lounge is open to every passenger, whatever the airline or ticket, with hot meals, snacks, and soft and alcoholic drinks included. Children are welcome with an adult. It is open daily from 04:30 to 18:00, and you can stay up to three hours from when check-in for your flight opens. Walk-up entry is £33, or it can be booked in advance.
For a very early flight, the Hampton by Hilton Humberside Airport is within walking distance of the terminal, with a secure car park and free baggage storage. Search Humberside hotels to compare rooms.
Getting there without a car
- Train and taxi: the nearest station is Barnetby, three miles away, served by TransPennine Express, East Midlands Railway and Northern. The airport's partner taxi firm, Cable Taxis, can take you on from there; book it before you travel.
- Bus: the service 4 between Scunthorpe and Kirmington calls at the airport every two hours, Monday to Friday. The North Lincolnshire JustGo on-demand bus can also be booked in advance by phone or app.
Check the timetable against your check-in time. For the 06:10 flight, with check-in opening at 04:30, driving, a pre-booked taxi or a night at the hotel is usually simplest.
