Heathrow has four terminals, 2, 3, 4 and 5, and your airline decides which one you use. Getting it wrong costs time on the day: Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 are separate sites, each on its own road in, and moving between terminals means a train or bus. This guide lists every airline at Heathrow by terminal, from Heathrow's own terminal finder, checked on 23 October 2026. Airlines do move, so check your booking before you set off.

The quick version

  • British Airways: Terminal 5 for most flights, Terminal 3 for some. See the list below.
  • Virgin Atlantic: Terminal 3.
  • Lufthansa, United, Air Canada, Aer Lingus, Singapore Airlines and Turkish Airlines: Terminal 2.
  • Air France, KLM, Qatar Airways and Etihad: Terminal 4.
  • Emirates, American Airlines, Delta and Cathay Pacific: Terminal 3.

British Airways flights from Terminal 3

Most British Airways flights leave from Terminal 5, but on 23 October 2026 Heathrow's terminal finder listed these British Airways destinations from Terminal 3:

  • Europe: Bucharest, Budapest, Cologne, Figari, Gibraltar, Gothenburg, Hannover, Krakow, Luxembourg, Marseille, Olbia, Oslo, Perugia, Prague, Riga, Rimini, Sofia, Stuttgart, Tirana, Toulouse, Valencia and Vienna.
  • Further afield: Atlanta, Bermuda, Dallas Fort Worth, Denver, Grand Cayman, Phoenix, Providenciales, São Paulo, and some flights to Bahrain.

This list changes with the schedule, so check your British Airways booking or the app for the terminal before you travel.

Codeshare flights: go by the airline that flies the plane

Many flights are sold under more than one airline's flight number. The terminal goes by the airline that operates the flight, not the one you booked with. Qantas, for example, tells customers on its flights operated by British Airways to check with British Airways for the terminal, and to check in with British Airways. Look for "operated by" on your booking or e-ticket, and use that airline's terminal.

Parking: check the car park covers your terminal

Several Heathrow car parks and Meet & Greet services only serve some terminals, and say so in their name. On 23 October 2026, every Meet & Greet service on our Heathrow page was for Terminals 2, 3 and 5, or only some of them, and none included Terminal 4. Purple Parking sells a separate Park & Ride for each of Terminals 2, 3 and 5.

So check the terminal first, then the product name, before you book. If you are flying from Terminal 4, choose a Park & Ride that serves it. Compare everything we sell on our Heathrow parking page, and our Heathrow guide covers drop-off, the ULEZ and how early to arrive.

If you go to the wrong terminal

Travel between the terminals is free on the Heathrow Express, the Elizabeth line, the Piccadilly line and the H30 bus. To change terminal inside the airport, follow the purple signs to the transfer services. It still takes time, so allow for it, or better, check the terminal before you leave home.
