Which is the best lounge at Manchester Airport Terminal 2

Have you ever been to an airport lounge before? If you haven’t, there are plenty of reasons why they are a great place to spend your time at Manchester Airport, and the great news is that you don’t need to be some kind of celebrity or VIP to use one either!

So, if you’ve decided that an airport lounge is the best way to start your next journey (FYI complimentary snacks are a great way to start any journey), then the next step is to work out which lounge you should choose. In terminal 2 at Manchester Airport there are a couple of options that you have to choose from, so here’s our comparison of what each lounge has to offer.

The Aspire Lounge at Manchester terminal 2

The Aspire lounge at Manchester terminal 2 is a compact, family friendly lounge area that packs in all of the essentials that you would expect from an executive lounge. You can sit back in a comfortable chair and make the most of the free wifi to catch up on emails, stream the latest episode of you favourite TV show or do that all-important airport check-in on social media. Alternatively, you can flick through one of the complimentary newspapers or magazines available and catch up on all the latest hot topics.

Lounge access to the Aspire lounge also includes complimentary snacks and a selection of drinks from the bar including beers, wines, spirits, teas and juice. The buffet is full of tasty treats including soups, salads and cakes for those with a sweet tooth – plenty to keep the hunger at bay before getting on the plane!

The Escape Lounge at Manchester terminal 2

Much like the Aspire Lounge, the Escape Lounge at Manchester’s terminal 2 caters for families as well as business passengers, offering comfortable surroundings and plenty to keep you and your travelling companions entertained before your flight.

The Escape lounge provides a cosy and modern place to kick back away from the noisy terminal, with all the facilities you would expect, such as high speed wifi, TVs, magazines and newspapers and plenty of places to charge your phone and other gadgets too.

There’s plenty of choice for hungry travellers too. If you’re checking in for an early flight, you’ll find a delicious breakfast selection including pastries, cereals and hot options. Pastas, salads and sweet treats feature in the choices for lunch and dinner. The complimentary bar is also fully stocked with something for everyone, including beers, wines, spirits, teas and juices. If you’re celebrating, you can opt for a glass of champagne for a little extra.

So, which Manchester terminal 2 lounge is best?

The facilities on offer at both the Aspire and Escape lounges in Manchester terminal 2 are fairly similar, so choosing between them can be a challenge. The Escape lounge is a bit more spacious, so if you’re looking for a bit more room to stretch out in this is probably the better choice. It’s also worth noting that some areas of the Aspire lounge are reserved for passengers travelling with specific airlines.

Both lounges offer a great selection of food and drinks, but we think Escape, with its wide selection of hot and cold options throughout the day just has the edge over Aspire.
