If you’re new to airport lounges and looking to book your first experience of relaxation at the airport (who knew that could be possible?!) you’ll want to know a little more about the different types of airport lounges that are available.

Family friendly airport lounges

If you’re looking for somewhere a little less chaotic than the hustle and bustle of the airport terminal to sit with the kids, a family friendly airport lounge is the perfect place to escape to. There are a number of lounges that boast family friendly facilities, including the Aspire and Escape lounge chains that can be found at many of the UK’s major airports. These lounges feature free wifi and charging points – great for keeping little ones entertained on tablets and other games, as well as a range of complimentary drinks and snacks that are sure to keep the whole family happy until it’s time to depart.

Luxury airport lounges

Fancy something extra special? Luxury lounges are perfect for starting your journey in style, whether you are travelling for business or pleasure. Spoil yourself with freshly prepared food from carefully crafted menus and premium drinks from a fully stocked bar. Luxury lounges take ambience seriously too, with opulent décor and furnishings that will make you feel like you are worlds away from the airport!

If you do need to catch up on emails or stay up to date online, you won’t need to worry about patchy wifi or your session timing out, the wifi in luxury lounges allows for high speed browsing all whilst sitting back and relaxing in elegant surroundings.

Adults only airport lounges

In addition to the luxurious features mentioned above, some luxury lounges operate an adult only policy, meaning that only guests aged 18+ can enter. This is a good option for anyone looking for a quieter experience at the airport and a retreat from any noisy and over excited youngsters! Adults only lounges usually have a smart / casual dress code in place, so it’s best not to turn up in your PJs as you may be a little out of place!

So now you know a little more about the different types of airport lounges! It’s best to check the facilities offered at each lounge before you book to make sure it’s suitable for your needs. You can find a variety of services and secure your spot in advance using our search tool here.
