Which is the best lounge at Manchester Airport Terminal 1

Long gone are the days when airport lounges were reserved for first class passengers travelling with select airlines. There is now more choice than ever for those looking for a bit of luxury or a tranquil escape from the busy airport terminal. Manchester Airport is no exception, with lounges available in all three of its terminals.

If you’re looking for a lounge in terminal 1 of Manchester Airport, you have the choice of two excellent lounges. But which one is the best? Before we decide, lets take a closer look at what is on offer at each lounge.

The Escape Lounge at Manchester Terminal 1

The Escape Lounges, available also in terminal 2 and terminal 3, offer a stylish, refined atmosphere with a smart casual dress code. Facilities include tempting food, drinks and snacks and a complimentary bar. Of the two lounge options available in terminal 1, the Escape Lounge is also the most budget friendly.

Escape lounges are family friendly, and as the name suggests, provide a welcome escape from the busy terminal building. You can sit back in one of the comfortable chairs and flick through the complimentary newspapers and magazines, watch TV or simply unwind for and hour or two. The free wifi is also great for business travellers who need to stay connected, or to keep the kids entertained by streaming their favourite videos and games.

Guests can also enjoy a selection of complimentary food and drinks such as pastries, cereals and hot options for breakfast and pastas, salads and sweet treats for later in the day. The complimentary bar is fully stocked with something for everyone, including beers, wines, spirits, teas and juices. If you fancy treating yourself to a glass or two of champagne this is also available for a little extra.

The 1903 Lounge at Manchester Terminal 1

The 1903 lounge is an adults-only retreat, offering a more luxurious haven from the busy departure lounge. It’s a little more expensive than the Escape Lounge, however guests certainly get value for money with the high-quality food, drink and service on offer. Guests travelling from Manchester terminal 3 can also indulge in a pass for the 1903 lounge.

Food is freshly prepared by the in-house chefs at the 1903 lounge, meaning that there is always a varied and exciting menu to temp your taste buds. Breakfast includes the standard options you would expect such as cereals, oatmeal and bagels as well as omelettes or poached eggs made to order. The hot and cold lunch buffet options will certainly get your mouth watering too, with a delicious selection of pastas, salads, curries and pies to choose from. Premium drinks are also included in your lounge pass at the 1903 Lounge, so a glass of champagne pre-flight is a must!

So, which Manchester terminal 1 lounge is best?

The answer to this will depend on what you need from a lounge. If you’re travelling with kids it’s safe to say that the best option for you will be the Escape Lounge, as this is the only family friendly option available in Terminal 1. Also budget conscious travellers simply looking for a spot to unwind and recharge before flying will find everything they need here too.

However, for a truly luxurious experience the 1903 Lounge takes the crown. The opulent surroundings and delicious food on top of all the standard features you would expect like premium seating and high speed wifi, make 1903 the perfect lounge for an adults-only escape.
